Inspired by nature, this gorgeous color palette with purple is suitable for a wide range of floral embroidery patterns. For a harmonious outcome, use purple as an accent color and one of its complementary colors, in this case, green and yellow (Diamant metallic).

THISTLE EMBROIDERY INSPIRATION
It’s been a while now since I wanted to embroider thistle flowers.
A color palette with purple and green was a natural choice. Add a bit of yellow or metallic thread and voilà! You have a gorgeous versatile stitch color palette that you can use for your floral patterns.

DMC TO ANCHOR FLOSS CONVERSION CHART
DMC and Anchor are the most commonly used brands of stranded cotton. For the thistle project, I used the DMC brand, but feel free to adapt these color suggestions to suit your needs.
If you don’t have access to the D225 Diamant metallic thread, you can replace it with a yellow-beige thread shade.
