What to Do with Your Colored Pages?

Here are 6 fun ways to make the most out of these winter coloring pages. They’re perfect to give kids a feeling of pride as they create, decorate, and share their artwork.

1. Create a Winter Wonderland Wall Art

Use the colored pages to create a beautiful winter themed wall. Teachers can dedicate a bulletin board in the classroom to showcase students’ colored pages. Parents, try this at home in the playroom or even the living room!

Fun fact: Snowflakes usually fall at about 1–4 miles per hour. However, larger snowflakes or clusters can fall faster due to their weight, while tiny snow crystals may drift gently, almost floating, because they’re lighter!

2. Craft a “Cozy Coloring Book” Gift

Have the kids color multiple pages and turn them into a cute DIY book. Punch holes on one side and tie the pages together with yarn, adding a personalized cover. These make wonderful handmade gifts for grandparents, teachers, or friends.

Fun fact: Snow appears white to us because it reflects light in a way that scatters all the colors equally. In reality, snow is made of clear ice crystals, but the reflected light makes it look white (or sometimes even blue when very compacted).

3. Make Winter Storybooks

Have kids color a snowman, snowflakes, or animals, then write a story about each character. Are they building a snow fort? Sipping hot chocolate by the chimney? Teachers can read these stories aloud in class, while parents might add the stories to a bedtime routine.

Fun fact: Animals like the Arctic fox and snowshoe hare have fur that changes color with the seasons. In the winter, their fur turns white to blend in with the snow, offering camouflage from predators!

4. Make DIY Holiday Cards

Print each page to fit on a folded piece of paper and personalize with words and even glitter. For a special touch, create a bundle of winter cards to share with friends, family, and classmates.

Fun fact: For some people, snow isn’t so magical! Chionophobia, from the Greek word “chion,” meaning snow, is an irrational fear of snow. Those with chionophobia may fear getting snowed in or the possibility of blizzards.

5. Create “Stained Glass” Winter Art

For a unique art twist, print some of these winter coloring sheets on thinner paper, color them in bright hues, and tape them to a window to create a beautiful winter scene. The transparency makes the colors pop more and create a stained glass effect.

Fun fact: The lowest temperature on Earth was recorded in Antarctica at a chilling -128.6°F (-89.2°C) in 1983. This is colder than the average temperature on Mars, which is around -81°F (-63°C)!

6. Make Winter Themed Wrapping Paper or Gift Tags

Instead of the usual store-bought wrapping paper you can use the colored designs to wrap small gifts. For gift tags, cut out parts of the pages, punch a hole, and tie them with ribbon. They’ll add a personal touch to holiday gifts that everyone will appreciate.

Fun fact: Winter begins with the winter solstice, typically on December 21st in the Northern Hemisphere, which is the shortest day and longest night of the year. From that point, days gradually get longer and nights shorter until summer arrives!
