Fun Ways to Use The Snowman Coloring Pages
I’ve created these pages to complete the extensive Christmas coloring collection I’ve been working on for the 2024 coloring season. You can pair these adorable frosty friends with the other pages, or they can shine beautifully on their own! When in need, these printable snowman coloring pages can be your winter wonderland lifesaver. Here are some fun ways you can use them in your winter crafts:
1. Holiday Ornaments
First thing that comes to mind is of course, snowman ornaments! Once the coloring pages are done, cut the snowmen out and turn them into holiday decorations! Use a hole punch and some ribbon to hang them on the tree or around the house. You can also laminate them to make them last through many more seasons!
Fun Fact: Did you know that the largest snowman ever built was a giant snowman standing over 122 feet tall? Talk about a winter wonder!
2. Cotton Ball Snowman Craft
If you’re looking to add some texture and dimension, use the colored snowmen as part of a craft. After coloring, glue cotton balls onto the snowman’s hat or body to give it that fluffy, snowy look. Don’t forget to add small twig arms, snowflakes and glitter for some frosty sparkle. Who doesn’t love a little extra winter shimmer?
Fun Fact: Snowmen have been around for hundreds of years, and they even appeared in medieval art! Imagine drawing a snowman next to a knight!
3. Create a Snowman Storybook
Let the kids color their favorite pages. Once their snowy friend is all dressed up in color, help them write or narrate a story. Imagine their friendly snowman skiing in some fun winter sports or joining Santa’s sleigh ride. It’s a fantastic way to boost creativity!
Fun Fact: The classic carrot nose wasn’t always the snowman standard. Sometimes people used sticks, coal, or even potatoes instead!
4. Build a “Snowman Gallery Wall”
Why let all that colorful creativity go unnoticed? Once the little ones color their snowmen, turn a blank wall into a winter-themed art gallery. Mix in some snowflakes to really create a snowy scene.
Fun Fact: Snowmen have their own “Day”! January 18th is officially National Snowman Day. It’s the perfect excuse to take a break, head outside and build your own snowy friend, or cozy up inside with some hot cocoa.
5. Snowman Place Mats
Print out a variety of snowman coloring pages and let your kids color them however they like. Once they’re finished, laminate the pages, and voila! You have custom winter-themed placemats. Each place mat can feature a different happy snowman, and kids can use them during mealtime.
Fun Fact: Funny enough, snowman “Olympics” do exist! In places like Japan and Canada, people compete in snowman building contests during winter festivals. The Sapporo Winter Festival, famous for its giant, detailed sculptures, is definitely on my bucket list! Imagine winning a medal for the coolest snowman!
