Botanical garnet red stitch color palette for your next embroidery project.
I must confess, Garnet Red is probably my favorite thread color! Here’s another vibrant red-based stitch color palette. Use the Melon Very Dark with caution though, it might be irritating on the eyes when used as a dominant color.

DMC TO ANCHOR EMBROIDERY COLOR CONVERSION CHART
DMC and Anchor are the most commonly used brands of stranded cotton. They both have a wide variety of colors and are made of good-quality stranded cotton. The thread is comprised of six strands, which can be easily separated as you might want to stitch with less than 6 strands depending on your project.
The Red Ornithology Color Palette uses the following shades of thread: Garnet Dark, Garnet, Coral Red Very Dark, Melon Very Dark, Pewter Light, Pewter Grey Dark.

If you plan to use these color palettes for needle painting projects, you can include more shades from each color family to create a smoother transition between shades.
For example, to create a smoother transition between the red shades, you could add more thread colors of similar tones, from the same red family: DMC 168 (Pewter Very Light), DMC 169 (Pewter Light), DMC 317 (Pewter Gray), DMC 413 (Pewter Gray Dark), DMC 3799 (Pewter Gray Very Dark).
